Portland, by-way-of Kansas City-based, Sigrah, is a producer we’ve been watching closely for years as he evolved into the beastmode super saiyan that he is today (although he’s too humble to admit it). He has blessed us with these catchy-as-fuck tunes, that we suspect will be doing some damage to dancefloors this Summer, and has already caught the ears of folks like DJ Craze and Om Unit. We’re thrilled to bring Ben into the fold and usher a new direction for the label as we welcome more of our international friends aboard, which allows us to be more creative with curation with a second label on the horizon!

This EP sees Sigrah go for the juggular with a duo of cheeky originals that fuse elements of Jungle with stripped-back halftime beats, coupled with a duo of remixes from Sonis and Onism Qi.

“Flip Mode” lets you know right off the bat what you’re in for when you hear that air raid siren. It promptly drops into a head-nodding beat, with a catchy square wave bass informing the rhythm. The beats keep building, layering clean breakbeats underneath and letting the synths and bass do the heavy lifting. “Breaker Bawks” pays homage to the sounds of golden-era D&B, but re-contextualizes it into a Halftime, Jungle hybrid, which steadily builds into an intense crescendo of synth-bass-drums-breaks, that really gave us the “yes feeling”. Sonis’ flip of “Flip Mode” (pun intended), mutilates the original into a nasty, lurking, horrific, but somehow, oh-so-lovable monster. Saturating and distorting the ever-living fuck out of everything in sight, all the while slouching along with a nasty, barely-quantized beat. Disgusting! Onism Qi bring it home with their take on “Flip Mode” that brings things in a darker direction. The reece basses are punctuated with some lush piano phrases before dropping into some dark Jungle to keep it rolling. Finally, back to the aforementioned piano to soothe our souls.
